Small business spotlight—how the Southeast Iowa JBS Sports Complex scored big with Arreya & Amazon Signage
The Southeast Iowa JBS Sports Complex transformed donor recognition and community engagement with a simple, cost-effective digital signage solution.

The Southeast Iowa JBS Sports Complex transformed their donor recognition approach with a digital signage solution that enhanced community engagement while maintaining simplicity and cost-effectiveness.
Spanning 66,000 square feet of cutting-edge facilities, the Southeast Iowa JBS Sports Center is more than just a sports venue— it’s a lively community location where athletes, families, and local groups come together to play, compete, and thrive. The complex sought to create adynamic donor recognition system that would surpass traditional static displays. They envisioned a solution that could be easily updated to reflect new contributions, celebrate milestones, and accommodate changes without the expense and hassle of physical replacements.
The complex wanted an affordable solution that would work with its existing displays. The JBS team selected Arreya for content management and the Amazon Signage Stick to power the setup. Content creation was streamlined through Arreya's Creative Studio, which allowed the team to use familiar tools like PowerPoint and Canva. The Amazon Signage Stick provided an affordable media players solution that allowed the team to quickly execute installation in minutes.
The system's technical architecture represented a significant improvement from the previous method of managing digital signage. The Amazon Signage Stick eliminated the need for cumbersome USB drives, enabling direct content streaming and updates.
The impact of the digital signage system ended up extending well beyond its initial purpose as a donor recognition tool. The complex expanded its use to include:
- Employee recognition and awards
- Corporate sponsor logo displays
- Personal celebrations like birthday messages
- Real-time content feeds including weather updates
- Sports-related content, such as March Madness brackets
