Supported Wi-Fi types

Wi-Fi 6E tri-band: 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax (2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz)

Tri-band support allows for more flexible and robust connectivity options, potentially reducing interference in crowded Wi-Fi environments.

Supported security types

The following 4 security types are supported but only through OOBE. These can’t be selected after a stick has been set up. They can only be selected when going through a Signage Stick set up.

  • Enhanced Open ---  Adds encryption to open networks without requiring a password.
  • WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) ---  Old encryption method using static keys (40/104-bit).
  • WPA/WPA2-Personal (PSK) ---  Uses a shared password (“Pre-Shared Key”) for authentication.
  • WPA3-Personal ---  Successor to WPA2 with more secure handshake (SAE – Simultaneous Authentication of Equals).

WPA/EPA2/WPA3-Enterprise is NOT supported at this time.

Troubleshooting network drops

If you are using direct internet connection via an ethernet cable and ethernet adapter, make sure your ethernet adapter is not getting power from a TV or a display USB port. Please use the power cable and adapter that come with Signage Stick to connect your ethernet adapter to main power source. The TV’s USB ports have limited power output, and we highly recommend using the power adapter and cable that come with Signage sticks.

Connecting to the interet via Ethernet cable

To connect your Amazon Signage Stick to the internet using an Ethernet cable, you'll need an Ethernet adapter. Here's what you need to know:

Required hardware:

  • An Ethernet adapter compatible with Fire TV Stick.
  • Examples include adapters with Micro USB to RJ45 Ethernet Network connections.
  • One specific option is the Electop Micro USB to RJ45 Ethernet Network Adapter.

Connection steps:

   1. Plug Amazon Signage Stick into HDMI port in your TV.
   2. Plug the Micro USB end of the adapter into your Signage stick.
   3. Connect an Ethernet cable from your router or network switch to the RJ45 port on the adapter.
   4. Power your adapter on.

Your Amazon Signage Stick should automatically detect the Ethernet connection.
